WE ARE BBC STUDIOS
A globally renowned media company borne of the BBC. We make and distribute the world's most sought-after TV, audio and digital content.
Our ambition is to be the home of the most powerful, entertaining, and inspiring stories for people all around the world.
BBC STUDIOS DRAMA UPSKILL OPPORTUNITIES
Following the unprecedented success of our Trainee and Upskill schemes on Father Brown, EastEnders and Casualty, we're opening up a number of opportunities on a new BBC drama being produced in Scotland.
In line with our success across the cosy crime space with Shakespeare and Hathaway, Father Brown, Sister Boniface, and The Detection Club, the new drama will bring mystery with a touch of the supernatural to Glasgow and surrounding areas when we start filming later this year.
Opportunities are all early career (rather than entry level); designed to offer the chance for people to progress their career by developing new skills in slightly a different role or move up within their chosen department.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
From stately homes and city streets to remote beaches and muddy fields, the Locations team helps create the spaces where our stories come to life.
Working closely with the Locations Manager, you'll coordinate the practical arrangements that keep filming on track. From permissions, paperwork and access requirements to unit moves, suppliers and location contacts, you'll help manage the logistics behind every shoot day.
This role would suit an experienced Location Assistant looking for the next step. You'll gain a deeper understanding of how locations are sourced, secured and managed, while building the skills and experience needed for a future career in location management.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience working within a Locations Department, either as a Locations Assistant or in a similar role within television, film or events.
Experience supporting location logistics, including access arrangements, unit moves, parking, permissions or site management activities.
Experience liaising with suppliers, location contacts, members of the public or other stakeholders to support operational requirements.
Experience coordinating tasks, maintaining accurate records, distributing information and supporting the delivery of work to deadlines.
Understanding of the practical and operational requirements involved in filming on location, including health and safety, access and site management considerations.
