Main Responsibilities


You report directly to the Senior Location manager whom you could be expected occasionally to deputise for in their absence.



To interpret scripts and identify the number, types and sequence of locations required for production.



The role assesses the suitability of different locations, negotiates fees, arranges for the cast and crew to travel to site, and manages the production crew's use of each locations.



Importantly, you will develop a strong working relationship with location owners, local Councils and Film Agencies whilst researching, sourcing, and assessing situations that arise, which sometimes could be a requirement to source unusual locations for the requirements of the production.



A requirement to organise recce schedules for production, investigate potential problems that could arise, whilst always being in contact with the local residents within a shooting area of up and coming filming and dealing with any issues.



The role is also responsible for some maintenance within the team location assets and to monitor and ensure location store and van are kept stocked with essential location equipment.



Whilst on location, ensuring that production release the properties back to their owners in the manner in which they were found, as well as plan and oversee any reinstatement required, making sure the location owners are always left happy.

Are you the right candidate?


You'll have gained experience as a Drama Location Manager, ideally in the South Wales area, with a deep knowledge of drama television production processes to include but not be limited to recces, production shoots, travel requirements and a proven knowledge of all health and safety regulations.



You will possess strong communication skills and you will be able to effectively build relationships with both internal and external personnel.



You will be able to demonstrate working knowledge of market pricing for locations and supplier services in South Wales and be able to work within a budget.



You will be required to lead the locations team on each episode to which you are assigned by the Series Location Manager, resolve any potential conflicts or issues if necessary and keep the Series Location Manager fully included in all scouting research, correspondence and files from start to finish of each 'block'.



Due to the nature of the work, it is essential that you have a full driving licence and full competency of risk assessments.
