SWNS seeks an experienced Lead Producer to evolve our video offering and become a key player in the day-to-day editorial process.Who we are:SWNS is the UK's biggest independent news content provider, with over 100 editorial staff in offices across the country and satellite offices in the US. We distribute more than 1,000 original media assets every day, making us one of the single biggest sources of news content for publishers across the world. We believe in real journalism; reporters, photographers and videographers who gather content at source and turn them into original media packages which leap off the screen.In 2021, we continue to develop our social video offering and will commission a number of original factual series. With that in mind, we're now looking for a driven and experienced Lead Producer. This person will help develop our existing ideas and turn them into a series of incredible shows. From creation to completion, the Lead Producer will oversee the production of our O&O content with growing our audience as the key driver. Reporting to the VP Video, you'll join a talented team of producers, journalists, editors and videographers to deliver outstanding content. We're looking for someone to roll up their sleeves, to get stuck into the production process, from storyboarding to editing with the end goal being the continuous rollout of exceptional work. The successful candidate will have extremely strong production expertise, experience of working with an ever-changing shooting schedule and be able to develop great ideas with the creative team. This is a senior position within the business that involves:? Being responsible for the production of quality social programming across multiple channels.? Delivering multiple video projects simultaneously.? Overseeing best practices around video tagging; titling, metadata, thumbnails, closed captions and upload processes for our social channels.? Driving audience growth and engagement on a growing slate of social channels.? Assessing and cherry-picking the best of the SWNS daily video content for social development.? Creatively and logistically planning a multitude of editorial projects.? Writing treatments/storyboards for upcoming shoots, giving detailed instructions to freelance crew, setting visual expectations with stakeholders.? Working with the members of the wider team (researchers, producers, editors, videographers) to ensure the smooth flow of content delivery.? Taking responsibility for pre and post-production schedules, making amend notes and templates for creative execution across all channels.? Being the technical go-to for the wider team, using experience to educate and build confidence within the team.? Researching new equipment and staying on top of industry developments.What we're looking for: ? 5+ years in the video content space, ideally with a deep knowledge of social media and distributed content.? The ability to ideate and conceptualise repeatable video series, to take a great ideas and turn them into an exceptional pieces of video storytelling, with the discipline to oversee the production team in doing so.? An intricate understanding of the social landscape and what makes great social content. ? An ability to pick up and understand a new audience quickly, and the knowhow to deliver content that will resonate, but also not being afraid of being disruptive, pushing the boundaries to grow the audience. ? Experience in all aspects of production (content development, scripting, casting, location hunting, budgeting, directing etc)? An obsessive attention to detail. Everything must be awesome.? Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and at a fast pace.? An interest in current trends, the latest developments in social video and always having one eye on what's coming next.? A strong reel of high-quality editorial and commercial video examples. ? Excellent communication and strong relationship building skills.? Strong copywriting, script-writing and storyboarding expertise.? A deep understanding of best creative practices, team structure, and process.? Proven leadership skills.
