Caters Media Group (CMG) is looking for a junior video producer with experience in making high-quality long and short form video content for OTT, VOD and digital/social platforms, including YouTube. The right candidate will work with video editors to produce factual entertainment content for CMG brands including StoryTrender, Life On The Edge and Deep Blue Discovery. Journalism and scriptwriting skills are a must because the ability to research a variety of topics and write accurate and entertaining briefs/scripts is the crux of the role. Day-to-day responsibilities will also include supervising large-volume productions and working to tight deadlines, meaning the right person would need good organisational skills and be proficient with admin software, such as Microsoft Office. A strong understanding of internet culture and UGC licensing is important too, as the junior video producer will spend a lot of time working with the best viral video on the Internet. Archive research and voiceover skills would also be useful, as would a working knowledge of video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro. You'll spend a lot of time working with editors, so it's vital you understand what they can do. While the role is a creative one, commercial understanding of what makes a video successful and experience of growing audiences on digital platforms, particularly YouTube, would be handy. In fact, the ideal candidate would be YouTube-certified. An interest in filmmaking and storytelling would make success in the role more likely. Background, Experience, Skills Required:1-3 years writing video scripts and briefs, preferably factual entertainment for consumer-facing brands. Demonstrable knowledge of social and OTT video platforms. Understanding of UGC, video licensing and media law. Working knowledge of video editing software, preferably Adobe Premiere Pro (Photoshop and After Effects would be a bonus). Experience in overseeing large-volume productions from beginning-to-end.
