Junior Social Video Producer

London

Your team: An iconic, dynamic storyteller with a rich heritage and a global audience in the millions, The Sun is now focusing on an exciting, video-first strategy to engage new audiences, putting video at the heart of our journalism.

This is your chance to join a talented team at a pivotal moment, contributing to fast-paced, agenda-setting video output that drives traffic and revenue, as we redefine how a historic brand tells stories in the fast-moving digital world.

Your role: We're looking for a Junior Social Video Producer who's curious, confident on their phone camera, and has their finger firmly on the pulse of what's trending online.

You'll help brainstorm, film, edit and publish short-form videos that tap into the conversations people are already having - from entertainment and lifestyle to news and culture.

This is a hands-on, creative role where no two days are the same. You don't need to be an expert editor; you just need a sharp eye, strong instincts, and a genuine love for storytelling.

Day to day you will:
Pitch and produce short-form video ideas that feel timely, relevant and scroll-stopping with our in-house talent.
Film and edit videos using your phone, keeping everything fast, authentic and platform-ready.
Write simple, engaging captions and on-screen headlines that tell the story clearly.
Spot trends, sounds and formats that could inspire future videos.
Support journalists with filming, interviews and day-to-day content capture.
Publish videos directly to TikTok and Instagram, ensuring posts are accurate and on-brand.
Keep an eye on performance and audience feedback to see what's resonating.
Collaborate closely with journalists and producers across the newsroom to shape ideas.

Who you are:
Sport-obsessed: Passion for football and boxing
Politics-savvy: Real interest in UK politics
Social-native: Chronically online and fluent in internet culture - you know your GK Barry from your Sophia Smith Galer.
News-curious: You love following what's happening in the world and spotting the human stories behind headlines.
Creative: You've got ideas for how to tell stories visually, and you're not afraid to try new things.
Adaptable: You're comfortable filming on the go and working with quick turnarounds.
Collaborative: You enjoy being part of a tight, supportive team where everyone chips in.
Eager to grow: You want to develop your skills in content creation, production and social storytelling.
Writing Skills: Clear, accurate, and engaging writer with strong attention to detail.
Organisation: Excellent time-management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks under pressure.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with production tools and editing software (Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar a bonus).
Team Player: Collaborative and proactive, with the ability to work independently when needed.
