Junior Researcher

Birmingham & Stratford Upon Avon

The Great British Menu are looking for a Junior Researcher to assist the small editorial team.

This is an opportunity limited to people with a permanent address in the Midlands, which you will be required to evidence if called for an interview.

Interviews will be in Birmingham in May and the job will begin in June 2025.

Key Skills
• Research using both the internet and telephone, you will be required to come up with new ideas for the series' content and persuade individuals and external organisations to help you.

• You must fact check any ideas the chefs have for the inspiration for their dishes in the competition from approved sources.

• You must be organised and have excellent IT skills to help keep the paperwork detailing the chefs' recipes, props and scores up to date.

• Good craft skills is an advantage as you may find yourself helping a chef to improve the props they present their dishes on.

• You will be shown how to clear the copyright on archive and music used in the series and you will need to chase up contacts in a polite, persistent and meticulous manner.

• You must be happy working in both a team and being left to get on with work by yourself.

• You will be required to work out of the Birmingham office during the pre-production period and from the Stratford upon Avon studio during the 9 weeks of filming starting in September.

• An interest in food and cooking competitions is useful, as is being able to drive.
