Job IntroductionBBC Morning Live are looking for a Junior Production Manager to work within the Studio Production Management structure. This role is a hybrid of remote and office work, at least three days a week to be spent in the Manchester office. This role on occasion may be required to cover the Studio record from 5am, so the successful candidate would need to be flexible and able to do this when required.We are anticipating a need for Junior Production Manager (Studio) from April 2023 onwards. The role will involve supporting the running of the daily studio show. You will help to manage the studio budget and support the PE and PM with forecasting, to create risk assessments for smaller items, to be the first port of call for clearance and copyright queries and to help ensure the communication between the PM and the Editorial teams continues to be smooth and productive. Strong organisational skills and a calm personable approach are essential. You will report into the Production Executive and Production Manager.Role ResponsibilityResponsible for the daily management of the runners and production management team being able to give advice and support with HR queries.Supporting the Production Executive with new staffing and outreach.Responsible for scheduling, budgeting and helping to manage the daily studio output.Responsible for ensuring all necessary rights are acquired studio items. Ensures production teams are aware of, and adhere to the processes for fully and accurately capturing and managing metadata in line with BBC guidelines and policies.Maintains a safe and healthy working environment at all times, escalating any issues or areas of concern.Proactively looks for ways of improving efficiency within production, promotes diversity and advocates the rationale for new ways of working and/or for adopting new production related technology. Responsible for liaising with Asset Management on IT requirements both in the office and on location,Contributing to, and helping to implement, practical actions to reduce environmental impact throughout production.Are you the right candidate?Current knowledge of the BBC and systems as well as the industry in the North.Experience of monitoring and managing health and safety on a production.Record of being organised and responsive in fast paced environments.Demonstrates strong organisational and forward planning skillsManages conflicting demands to meet deadlines.Able to proactively devise new ideas for working more efficiently.Strong working knowledge of post-production workflow including paperwork.In-depth knowledge of clearances and dealing with archive copyright.Experience booking talent and dealing with agents.You must have multiple TV broadcast credits as a Production Coordinator or JPM across factual productions.Experience completing the Albert Carbon Footprint and driving sustainability aims.
