Please note this is a speculative role. If we move to hire, the position will be hybrid and require days in our London studio as well as travel to film studios in North West London. Driven by creativity and inspired by the future, we set out every day to reframe the possible.The RoleRealtime Environment Artists within our pre-production department blend artistic vision with technical expertise, collaborating closely with developers, visualisation artists, and VFX teams to build high-quality, performant real-time environments for feature films and episodic productions.As a Realtime Environment Artist, you'll work with Visualisation and VFX Supervisors to create stunning and efficient real-time environments in Unreal Engine. Your focus will be on level art, set dressing, texturing, and optimisation, ensuring assets meet both aesthetic and technical requirements. You'll collaborate with Asset Builders to integrate Characters and Props seamlessly into the environment, contributing to the overall look and feel while adhering to best practices in environment construction and performance. You'll be involved in optimising environment workflows and ensuring the best possible visual fidelity and real-time performance in Unreal Engine.What you'll do:Create high-quality 3D assets, built in Unreal Engine and in external DCCs like Maya or Houdini, modelling high poly, hard surface and organic forms as well as creating textures and shadersWorking with Lookdev assets in Unreal Engine - you'll create photoreal assets optimised for VP workflows and VR - focusing on PBR workflows, realistic lighting and performance optimisationCreate high-quality, photoreal environments with bespoke kits and marketplace content for Level designCreate high-quality light rigs for realistic and cinematic contentCollaborate with the Virtual Production team to benchmark, optimise and enhance performance in Unreal scenes and profile hardware (GPU, CPU, Network)Create and maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of workflows, processes and toolsJob requirementsDemonstrable technical knowledge and strong creative and artistic skillsHands-on experience with look development, lighting, and renderingComplete understanding of Unreal EngineStrong communication and organisational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentPositive attitude towards learning and collaborationAccessibility StatementOur London studio is fully accessible, with step-free entry, accessible toilets on all floors, and quiet spaces available.
