We are looking for a junior After Effects - FX/ Editor/ Animator to join our creative team with a solid understanding of composition, cinematography and animation.

The candidate will play a crucial role in the post-production process of visual content. We are a small but perfectly formed production company based in Cardiff, who work across a range of visual mediums, though our core work is Branded Content and TV adverts.

The right candidate will preferably have knowledge and / or experience of the below but these can also be taught:
- Knowledge of using Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Media Encoder and Davinci Resolve using Windows or Mac.
- Experience working in commercials beneficial but not essential.
- Understand importance of layouts of graphics and titles and motion graphics.
- Motion tracking, point, corner-pin, and ideally Mocha planar tracking.
- Masking/rotoscoping skills
- Greenscreen keying using Keylight, luminance keying and other methods working with alpha mattes.
- Blending and compositing all elements for scenes, creating camera movement, and scene manipulation through camera movements
- Composite and track shots to integrate all the layers, including live-action and computer-generated elements, such as sky replacements, face clean-ups etc
- Animation skill, requiring an understanding of mechanical movement, realistic physics, action staging and cinematography
- Understanding of 3D workspaces within After Effects.
- Knowledge of file formats - proxies, codecs and containers. Need to know the technical difference between a client file for sign-off and final files for broadcast and mastering. Do you know your ProRes from your H264?
- Knowledge of LUTS and why and when to use them.
- Colour grading in Davinci Resolve is beneficial.
- Good communication with team members in order to absorb and interpret a brief correctly and efficiently.
- Ensure the correct formatting and presentation for finalised videos according to client's specifications.
- File exchange formats - knowing how to supply an edit from offline (Premiere) to online (Davinci Resolve and After Effects) and how to supply audio to be mixed.
- A basic understanding of post workflows to understand what can be done in post production to improve shots with effects and clean-ups.
- Personable demeanour when meeting with clients and maintaining a level-head when asked to change an edit multiple times.
