Overview
To secure and produce exclusive and distinctive interviews for ITV News, both in the UK and abroad. The Interviews Producer will work on running stories to track down news-making guests that will set the agenda. They will have a brimming contacts book and run big bids to ensure ITV News gets key interviews ahead of our rivals. This is a key role created to drive distinctive coverage.

Responsibilities
* To secure and produce exclusive and agenda-setting interviews for ITV News
* Work on breaking news stories to ensure we get the best interviews ahead of our rivals
* Work closely with the Heads of Home and Foreign to establish bids for interviews on big upcoming events
* Take ownership of running stories to make sure ITV News has a consistent strategy
* Work closely with presenters, reporters and correspondents once interviews are secured
* Be seconded to work on special programmes on occasion to oversee interviews
* Build a contacts book to make sure ITV News is first in line for news-making interviews

Qualifications
* Good understanding of the ITV News agenda and its TV and online audiences
* Good contacts book
* Proven track record on securing interviews and exclusive content
* Good diplomatic and negotiation skills
* A proven ability to use social and digital media to drive stories and content
* High level of technical ability in editing and the production of graphics
* Sound research skills
* Confidence to travel at short notice and operate unsupervised away from base
* Concise writing style with flair, accuracy and focus
* Rich pool of ideas for stories, angles and treatments, primarily in the Consumer brief
* A track record of creative reporting and producing
* Good communicator and team player with a positive attitude
* Good knowledge of Ofcom regulations and ITN compliance
* Awareness and understanding of the financial implications of all decision making
* A solid understanding of television production and newsgathering techniques
* Excellent written English with a flair for scripting tight packages
* Tenacity, attention to detail, organisation, enthusiasm and energy
* An understanding and awareness of ITV News' commitment to diversity in its coverage
* An understanding an awareness of ITV News digital strategy
* A knowledge of upcoming events well in advance that would provide opportunities for interviews
