Head of Social MediaLocation: MailOnline Headquarters - LondonPosition: Permanent Job IntroductionMailOnline has an incredible opportunity for a Head of Social Media to lead its industry-leading team in London. MailOnline is the biggest news publisher on social media with more than 40million followers across its wide-ranging and diverse stable of accounts. We're looking for an outstanding candidate who can cement that position, grow our traffic and drive engagement and follower growth.The candidate must have a proven ability to deliver world class innovation and growth in social media, particularly on Facebook, but also focusing on Twitter, Instagram and other platforms.You will manage a team of talented social media editors and writers, identity content themes and devise and implement new tactics and strategies, while maintaining editorial standards of excellence. You will work closely with our editors and journalists to deliver engaging content to our millions of followers. You must have a high regard for analytics and understand how to use it to inform actions - and deliver demonstrable success.Requirements:Exceptional knowledge of industry trendsProven ability to lead large teams of creativesAbility to provide vision for growth across multiple social platforms and deliver understanding of analytics and using them to inform outputHigh proficiency in Adobe PhotoshopAbility to identify, vet, and create compelling original and viral stories, local and global, that will be shared on MailOnline's social accountsExperienced editor capable of quick turn-arounds, with multiple projects on your plate at any given momentEffective communicator and team player who will collaborate with social media producers, journalists and editors to create compelling workSharp writer who can write punchy headlines and captions - and with a good eye for engaging imageryResponsibilities: Provide leadership to a team of social media editors and writersDeveloping and delivering social media strategy for MailOnline's huge audienceProvide weekly reports on performance for senior leadershipThe above list is not exhaustive and constantly evolving, based on the needs of the business.
