SENIOR PRODUCTION MANAGER / HEAD OF PRODUCTION(MATERNITY COVER)• Company: Calamity Films Ltd• Job Title: Senior Production Manager / Head of Production (Maternity Cover)• Reports to: Existing Head of Production & Founder/Executive Producer• Salary: Negotiable based on experience• Start Date: June 2023 Onwards (Mid-June latest)• Contract Type: 8 months fixed term contract maternity cover• Location: Office in London (W11 - Notting Hill) & Remote WorkingApplication Deadline: 5pm on Friday April 21st 2023JOB INTRODUCTIONWe are looking for Senior Production Manager or Head of Production who is passionate about programme making to join our small but ambitious production management team to provide maternity cover for our current Head of Production. This is an in-house role at Calamity working primarily across the late prep stages and shoot of our returning comedy drama series but also with some work across our development slate. The role will include implementation of internal policy, compliance and infrastructure; overseeing cost reporting procedures including attending all cost reporting meetings with the broadcaster; liaising with third party consultants on HR, Wellbeing, Diversity and Sustainability; as well as being across the day-to-day running of the production working closely with the producer and senior production team on theground. This will involve regular travel to Manchester for production meetings in prep and hiatus week and ideally set visits every other week across the 20 week shoot as required.You would need to be available to start by mid-June at the latest and the role is offered as 8-month, full-time and fixed term contract to include 1 month of handover with current HoP and then to provide maternity cover across a busy production period.The role would combine both in-person office working and remote working from home.The salary will be commensurate with skills and experience. We are happy to consider flexible working arrangements for this role.APPLICATION DETAILSTo apply, please email your CV and a covering letter of 1-page maximum length (including details of your salary expectations).Shortlisted candidates will be invited by email to interview.The closing date for applications is Friday 21st April 2023.ROLE RESPONSIBILITYYou will be working closely with the Company Founder & Executive Producer with a primary focus of overseeing the production management of our returning comedy drama series across a range of areas.Responsibilities will include:• Liaising with Line Producer & Production Accountant on our TV series re Weekly Cost Reports & Cashflow and all areas of production financing (including liaising with Tax credit accountants and lenders)• Liaising with Production Team on all production compliance matters including Risk Assessments, GDPR, HR policy, diversity & inclusion policy and strategy both in-house and across all productions• Overseeing, sustainability policy and strategy both in-house and across our diversity the Company in-line with the Calamity Films vision and brand.• Liaising with consultants to maintain and implement in-house compliance, IT infrastructure and internal systems• Making regular trips across late stages of prep and shoot to Manchester to visit set & production offices• Regularly liaising with the broadcaster on all areas of the production including compliance, HR, Diversity, Inclusion & Accessibility, Mental Wellbeing, Sustainability and attending cost report meetings• Providing production oversight across development slate, working closely with legal team on finalising deals for writers and directors and talent and overseeing development budgetsIDEAL CANDIDATE• We are looking for a team player who thrives on collaborating with a small team, keeps calm under pressure with strong leadership skills and - most vitally - a good sense of humour!• The ideal candidate will be adaptable and able to pivot quickly when faced with obstacles and someone who will relish the challenge of managing a busy HETV production• Experience in-house in a senior Production Management role or in a freelance Senior Production Management role with budget oversight responsibilities is essential• You will have extensive knowledge of crew rates, working structure, PACT/BECTU deal and be used to reviewing and assessing HETV budgets, schedules, crew & cast agreements.• Ideal candidates will be able to use Movie Magic Budgeting (though not essential)• Ideally you have direct experience of negotiating deals & booking suppliers, managing and booking accommodation & travel• You will have a demonstrable commitment to diversity and inclusion and will be able to collaborate closely with senior management to meet our D&I goals.• You will have a commitment to Sustainability and ideally have experience of working with Green Memos & Strategy across a production to attain Albert CertificationPerson specification:- Personable with sense of humour- Confidence- Confidentiality & Discretion- Team leadership & enjoyment of team nurturing/training- Flexibility & proven Multi-tasker- Enthusiasm- PatienceCalamity films is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from candidate of all backgrounds.ABOUT CALAMITY FILMSProducer David Livingstone set up Calamity Films, an independent television and film production company, in 2013. Co-created by BAFTA-winning writer Danny Brocklehurst and actor Joseph Gilgun, the first series was broadcast on Sky One in August 2019 and became Sky's most successful comedy launch for 7 years.
