As an independent production company, we are renowned for our innovative storytelling and commitment to producing high-quality, impactful content.Job Overview:The Head of Production plays a crucial role at ZANDLAND, overseeing our documentaries and series production. This position demands a blend of leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on production experience. Responsibilities include managing teams, preparing budgets, negotiating contracts, and ensuring smooth operations.Key Responsibilities:Project, Budget & Cash Flow Oversight: Lead project planning and execution, ensuring they are on schedule and within budget. Managing multiple budgets and cash flowing where appropriate.Team Management & Recruitment: Recruit and manage production teams in conjunction with Executive Producers to ensure effective collaboration and productivity.Strategic Planning: Develop strategies for production operations, including new project development.Contract Negotiations: Negotiate with clients, networks, legal, contractors, and other parties.Quality Assurance: Maintain the highest standards of production quality from pre-production to post-production.Required Skills and Experience:Leadership and Team Management: Demonstrated leadership ability to motivate production teams.Communication: Exceptional communication skills for effective team coordination.Compliance: A meticulous approach towards ensuring content complies with relevant requirements including but not limited to legal, H&S and OFCOMProblem-solving: Skill in addressing and resolving production challenges.Organisational Skills: Strong skills in managing multiple projects and maintaining schedules and budgets.Budgeting and Financial Management: Experience in budgeting and financial oversight.Industry Experience: Extensive experience in film or television production, particularly in documentaries and series.Working Conditions:We make difficult journalistic films with complicated access, this role demands high responsibility and the ability to work under pressure.
