Head of Post Production

D1 is the internal creative agency that sits under Amazon Integrated Marketing and setts brand direction for Amazon's global Retail and Kindles devices business. Video is at the heart of our content and advertising strategies and our main marketing format, so we are looking to recruit a seasoned head of post-production.

We require a Head of Post Production with strong creative and storytelling skills to lead the rapidly expanding video team and support production services for Amazon's internal marketing and creative agency, D1.

The role will include leading a team of post producers, video editors, motion designers, colourists and audio engineers in producing video content for the EU and global marketplace. There will be a need to constantly collaborate with in-house creative directors, art directors, creatives, producers and campaign managers to produce broadcast quality online video content for advertising, social media, digital marketing campaigns, and PR events.

The Head of Post Production is responsible for directing the development and execution of all creative aspects of post production. You will be expected to lead multiple large, complex projects and be a role model for interdisciplinary teams, as well as taking responsibility for the creative excellence of all work delivered.

You must be commercially minded, but creatively driven, a strategic thinker who lives and breathes post production and can solve business problems effectively. You must be able to think "big", coming up with creative post production concepts that can be understood clearly and delivered on time and to budget.

You should have ambition, drive, energy and optimism, inspiring others to do their best work. You must be collaborative and have high expectations of yourself and the teams around you.

You must be able to present your ideas and leverage the creative network in and around London. You must be able to build strong, lasting relationships while looking for new opportunities with global associates.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Extensive experience in production and post production environment
· A solid background as a senior level contributor in agencies and production companies.
· Proven results through implementation of creative processes, philosophy and culture into a production and post production environment.
· Experience managing budget accountability.
· Demonstrated client-management skills.
· Extensive experience in a deadline-driven video production environment, preferably in a creative agency or production company.
· Created and delivered branded and video content, including advertising, online and social media.
· Desire and ability to handle multiple projects in a fast paced production environment, under tight deadlines.
· Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to lead, supervise and execute video projects from concept through delivery.
· Lead projects with GPS and post production companies.
· Understanding of the video production process, equipment, technology and roles.
· Experience localising video content for international and global markets is a huge plus.
· Work closely and collaboratively with a variety of team members that includes creative director, creative leads, producers, AD's, DOP, HOP, directors, production crews, editors, art directors, and storyboard artists.
· Demonstrated business acumen and customer-centricity.
· Assist with various managerial and administrative duties.
· Degree in a Broadcast, Media, or Production related field, or equivalent professional experience required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Expert level in Adobe premiere, FCP, Flame, and Avid editing systems.
· Extensive knowledge of Interplay UX, video servers and media asset management systems.
· Expertise in encoding, transcoding and file delivery systems.
· Expertise in editing, motion design, colour grading and audio engineering.
· A thorough understanding and in depth user knowledge of each of these roles is vital.
· Excellent written/verbal/presentational communication skills and collaborative skills.
· Production experience for both EU and global marketplaces.
· Passion for Film, video, new technologies, and trends.
· Experience working with retail brands.
· Experience working with agencies and external production companies.
· Extensive experience in advertising, broadcast TV, promos and movie trailers.
· Knowledge of video industry standard formats, and media asset management practices on Mac/Windows platforms and networked environments.
· International production experience including localising content across languages and cultures.
· Experience in integrating video into marketing or advertising campaign with large brands.
