Located at our Head Office in Luton, this position will see the role holder taking the function of Head of Department and managing the AV team, overseeing UK and overseas projects, and assuming accountability for departmental financial performance in its entirety. Effective project & resource management, commercial acumen and previous technical experience are key requirements.Our AV function sees us recruit and manage technicians both in the UK and overseas, we also conduct AV installations for entertainment partners (to include staging, light and AV) and maintain a healthy portfolio of UK work which sees us supporting government funded educational institutions, partners in the cruise sector and much more besides.The current AV team includes UK and Overseas Project Managers, Procurement Manager, Technical Contracts Co-ordinator, UK Sales Manager and Administrative support. As well as our permanent resource, the AV Team have a plethora of freelance support available which is called upon when required to include Technical Engineers, Electricians, Maintenance Support and Audio expertise.The Head of AV will manage all of these resources and ensure the effective operation of our client accounts whilst devising a strategy to support the Sales Manager with a pipeline of UK based work whether that be within or the entertainment industry or otherwise. Our primary function is entertainment and therefore the role holder should be well versed with product innovation in the AV sector which can potentially influence our creative and able to communicate effectively to all stakeholders in a non-technical manner.The role holder will own larger tenders onto project fruition and use the team as resource, therefore an individual with AV, sound & light install experience is required and someone with an electrical bias is particularly desirable. Typically we operate as a sub contractor to the main contractor and this is something the role holder will be comfortable with. In short, we're looking for someone to take our AV department to the next level. Technical expertise, hunger for growth, effective team management, a head for numbers and a proven history in this sector are all attributes that the role holder will possess. And, finally, as with all things TED, we think client. Experience of managing client account is a prerequisite.
