As a junior engineer, you'll assist in planning and delivery of high-standard live broadcasts and technical services, remote and cloud productions across a varied portfolio of work both on-site or based in our galleries. Essential to the role is an interest in cloud technology and remote production. The position offers hands-on experience with our cutting-edge equipment.Your Responsibilities- Assist in designing and implementing solutions needed on a project-by-project basis- Assist technical scoping, site visits and production meetings with clients and suppliers- Provide operational cover and engineering support in a multi-skilled capacity on projects as required- Work alongside other crew, staff or freelancers on-site depending on the project's need and act with initiative to ensure smooth delivery as required- Assist with the design and build of project specific equipment configurations, racks and programming- Keeping up to date and maintaining technical logs and systems documentation- Work on developing new systems, software or hardware to streamline delivery, improve performance or achieve new goals- Perform diagnostics and repairs on equipment; including maintaining the company's' studios, galleries, fly-aways and Outside Broadcast vehicles- Actively research to understand new technologies and methods to aid personal and professional development- Attend and contribute to strategy and planning meetingsYour Required Skills and Knowledge- Relevant experience (i.e. work placement, degree qualification or extra-curricular activities) in the live events, engineering and/or broadcast industry with an understanding of the complex technologies and requirements involved in delivery- Bachelor's or technical degree in an applicable field- Ability to work within a team environment or independently depending on the project's needs- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and IT literacy- Methodical organisational, and time-management skills- Well-developed representational and interpersonal skills- Positive attitude towards improvement and development of processes and procedures- Ability to prioritise tasks based on their urgency- A proactive, dependable and team player approach ensuring your work supports the company's endeavours- Principles of video and audio transmission, including typical standards such as HD-SDI, Dante, etc- Demonstrable knowledge across a variety of areas such as cameras, sound, vision, connectivity, etc- A full driving licence and passport is highly desirable- Ability to work under pressure in a live environment and within programme requirements which will include working unsociable hours when required
