Kenny Wax Productions is expanding its General Management team and is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the day-to-day management of West End and UK Touring productions as required.

Candidates should be able to join us no later than May 2025.

Kenny Wax Productions is firmly established as one of the UK's leading producers of West End productions and touring theatre. Current productions include the Tony Award-winning smash-hit SIX the Musical (West End, UK Tour, Broadway, US Tour); Mischief Theatre's The Play That Goes Wrong (West End & Off-Broadway) and The Comedy About Spies (West End opening April 2025). KWP also general manages Bluey's Big Play (European Tour) and The Shark is Broken (UK Tour).

Development projects for 2025/2026 include a Co-Production with the RSC, a new Mischief Theatre show for UK Tour and the European premiere of a new musical.

The successful candidate will be someone with at least 2 years' experience working as a General Manager in a commercial production office. They will have exceptional organisational, interpersonal and administrative skills, be highly numerate, with an excellent knowledge and understanding of the sector. JOB DESCRIPTION
Production/General Management
• Negotiate rights and conduct further communication with rights holders
• Negotiate with creative team and actors' agents
• Prepare creative, cast and production contracts
• Lead the production team and work closely with the marketing and creative teams, Tour Booking Department and the venues to deliver a financially viable, high quality production to the UK and internationally ensuring strong, clear and consistent communication throughout
• Work closely with co-producers, ensuring excellent communication and positive relationships are maintained
• Oversee touring schedules and plan tours alongside the Producer and Tour Booker
• Work with the Producer to initiate, secure, negotiate and maintain any co-producing and/or partnership arrangements required for productions. Ensure at all times the best possible outcome for the Company
• To work with the Producer to identify future life for productions, including national and/or international touring opportunities
• Ensure appropriate production insurance is in place
• Manage production HR and lead on child licensing as required
• Line manage Production Co-Ordinator(s), Production Assistant(s)
• To attend all internal and external meetings as required and contribute to the operation and development of the Company
• Attend key performances and events, including first previews, press nights and last night performances
• Oversee the day to day management of productions including performance management of show staff, maintenance of creative quality and dealing with HR issues.

Finance
• Preparation of management budgets
• To manage, monitor and reconcile all production costs
• Oversee the payment of royalties
• Agree theatre contras, collect venue advances, check and sign off settlements
• Oversee weekly payroll & payment runs
• Work with the Head of Finance and external Accountants to sign off and/or produce production accounts at the end of a tour or season and weekly running accounts.
• Prepare Investment Agreements
• Manage cash-flow for production(s)
• Communicate with and distribute funds to investors

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
• A minimum of 5 years' relevant professional experience in a theatre production office
• Experience of general managing first-class commercial productions in the West End and UK Tour.
• Experience of managing budgets, negotiating deals and contracts, liaising with unions and managing royalty payments.
• Experience of working with producing partners to deliver productions.
• Highly organised and efficient, with the ability to think ahead and take initiative.
• Proven experience working with a range of different professionals and creative individuals at all levels to deliver work to a high standard.
• Ability to work both self-sufficiently and collaboratively as part of a busy producing office.
• Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task effectively under pressure, prioritising across numerous productions & deadlines.
• A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• A clear and effective communicator across all media with excellent computing & IT skills.
• Flexibility, reliability & enthusiasm.
• Tact, diplomacy and discretion.
• A fast learner.
• Passionate about theatre.

Desirable
• Experience of international productions and/or international touring including tax and visas
