Football Journalist

Osterley

An opportunity for aspiring and existing football journalists to join the Sky Sports Digital football team on a fixed-term basis for 12 months, based predominantly from our Osterley campus.

The role of Digital Football Journalist is to produce, create and co-ordinate digital editorial content across Sky Sports Digital Media platforms (www.skysports.com, and Sky Sports Mobile applications) and third party distribution channels.

Reporting to the Output Editor this is a key role that will ensure Sky Sports remains the destination of choice for sports fans, creates revenue opportunities and continues to add value to the Sky Sports subscription.

What you'll do:

Create and write vibrant digital football content - football news and live football coverage - of the highest standard.
Write under pressure to tight deadlines, especially in a live blogging / match reporting environment.
Ghost-write for Sky Sports talent / showcase Sky Sports linear output online.
Support the production of video and audio content when required.
Work closely with digital video and social teams to promote relevant video in most popular stories to support commercial targets.
Assist in making editorial decisions and manage digital football indexes.
Collaborate with multiple areas of Sky Sports to ensure we are producing aligned and consistent content that showcases the best of Sky Sports and supports specific business KPI's.
Build and maintain relationships with wider stakeholders around Sky.

What you'll bring:

NCTJ qualified or equivalent.
Knowledge of working on Content Management Systems
Possess a working knowledge of media law
Role entails working some evenings, weekends and public holidays.
