Financial Controller, Horse & Country TV

The Role

Management of all aspects of office and finance duties within a growing television company, with a yearly turnover of £1,000,000.00

Key Responsibilities

Timely reports to the Chairman & Managing Director in London, including weekly cash-flow reporting & forecasting, monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and also ad-hoc reports as and when required.

Inputting all monthly accounting transactions and journals, including purchase & sales ledger, fixed asset management, depreciation, deferred income.

Bank reconciliations of sterling, USD, Euro and credit card accounts.

Full preparation of yearend management accounts, and liaising with the accountancy firm for signoff.

Preparing payroll figures each month for the payroll company, and keeping records.

Keeping and updating Companies House records, issuing share certificates.

Managing Health & Safety, personnel, and holiday records, processing employee and contractor expenses claims.

Overseeing and updating insurance, rent, & rates for the two company offices.

Ofcom, Sky, ATVOD compliance & reporting; WAG claims & reports; Quarterly VAT returns & EC sales returns.

Creating and managing customer, supplier and programme contracts; record keeping, licence period and territory extensions.

Fulfilling DVD orders, managing stock, invoicing, and reporting on sales.

Dealing with phone enquiries, opening and sorting incoming post, and organising outgoing post/ courier services.

Required Skills and Experience

Sage Line 50 experience essential

Preferably a qualified accountant, eg AAT/ACCA/ CIMA, ideally with experience in a small to medium size company.

Good interpersonal and communication skills with customers, suppliers, colleagues and freelance contractors.

Organisation and ability to work to a high standard and fast turnaround.
