Financial Accountant

SailGP is racing redefined. The world's most exciting racing on-water, SailGP was established in 2018 and is headquartered in London, UK and New York. The annual, global championship Races for a Better Future accelerating change in everything it does.



The fan-centric, inshore racing takes place among the sport's top athletes in some of the most iconic harbors around the world and offers the sport's largest monetary prize of $1 million. Rival national teams battle it out in identical supercharged F50 catamarans, engineered for intense racing at electrifying speeds exceeding 60 mph/100 kph.



In 2020, SailGP set a new standard as the first climate positive sports and entertainment property and began delivering actions and innovations that advance the global adoption of clean energy. Summary:



As a Financial Accountant, you will report to the Global Financial Controller and work with the various global subsidiaries within SailGP.



Key Responsibilities

Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements for all subsidiaries as required
Prepare VAT returns and other schedules for all taxes in all jurisdictions
Manage cash forecasts for the subsidiaries
Lead the annual audit including preparation of audit files and liaison with auditors and any ad hoc audits
Supervise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff
Manage group inventory systems
Ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested


About You:

ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent with at least five years' experience in a finance role
Drive for accuracy and exceptional attention to detail when handling information.
Strong organizational, prioritization and administrative skills.
Ability to communicate confidently and adapt communication style according to the needs of the stakeholder.
Self-motivated to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
Work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
Be passionate about sport
Understand that finance is a key service within the organisation and understand the need to communicate with finance staff and all other inquires in a cordial and timely manner


Location:

Based in the London office (Hammersmith) and willing to adjust working hours to accommodate all jurisdictions
