Head Gear Films is looking to fill a full-time position within its finance team, starting as soon as mutually convenient.

Head Gear is one of the most prolific private financiers of media in the UK, deploying over US$50m a year into around 30 feature films around the world, as well as television productions, video games, animations and theatre shows; Head Gear also works closely with its sister company, Bankside Films, a leading international sales agent.

We are currently a team of six people, and are looking to recruit several additional members of the team over the next year.

The exact scope of the role will be tailored to suit the specific experience of the selected applicant. Applicants with media finance or business affairs backgrounds are welcome, as are less experienced but suitably focused candidates. Primary areas of activity will include:

• Managing loan accounts
• Maintaining ongoing dialogues with producers
• Analysis of potential new deals
• Industry and market research
• Data collection and analysis

Essential skills required are:

• Demonstrable experience of successfully managing multiple, time-sensitive tasks
• Good all-round IT skills, particularly with MS Excel
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work from own initiative
• A commercial awareness of the independent film industry
• Demonstrable problem-solving abilities
• Analytical skills - ability to interrogate numerical data and generate substantiated conclusions

Essential personal qualities required are:

• A strong, authentic interest in film finance and the independent film business in general
• A conscientious, team-oriented attitude
• Appreciation of and focus on customer service and client relationships

Regular office hours are from 10am to 6pm at our office near Oxford Circus, but additional work may be required as necessary outside those hours - successful applicants would be expected to take full ownership of the projects they are allocated. Due to the international aspect of Head Gear's business, this could mean early morning calls with Australia, or evening calls with America.

There may be some limited opportunity for travel to international festivals or events, but it should be noted that market attendance would always be determined according to the
business requirement.

The role will initially be offered on a temporary basis, converting to a permanent role following successful completion of a six month probationary period.

The level of remuneration and other aspects of the role will be based on the selected individual's existing experience.
