Facilities Manager

Park Royal

The Facilities Manager will be responsible for the facilities management of the company's Television Centre studios, post production and office facilities.

Introduction

Broadcasting Live from its London based studio headquarters, Alaraby Television Network continues its phenomenal growth as an organisation delivering a broad range of programme content, varying from news to entertainment.

Main purpose of the Role

To support our state of the art studios, a 24 by 7 operation, we seek qualified professionals for this H&S & Facilities Manager role.

In this role you will be involved in building maintenance and general refurbishment work, perform Health and Safety checks of all our units onsite.

Supervise Logistics, the duties and responsibilities are to include regular reviews of service level agreements with hotels, travel outlets and transportation companies, ensuring cost efficiencies at all times.

You will provide support and deliver initiatives working closely with the Operation Team and other key stakeholders to ensure a smooth employee experience and strong support for business needs, whilst managing and ensuring the delivery of key milestones.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

The Facilities Manager will be responsible for the facilities management of the company's Television Centre studios, post production and office facilities.

Work proactively to develop and improve the facilities on site within commercial limits. Providing authoritative advice and guidance on health & safety matters to all stakeholders within designated area of responsibility.

Building Management:
Manage security issues and personnel in internal and external areas including access control and CCTV systems
Reception, maintenance, mail, and archiving services to the business
Manage assigned parking spaces and maintain parking areas
Manage cleaning and hygiene of Alaraby internal and external areas and ensure forward planning relating to special cleaning requirements
Ensure basic facilities, such as water and heating are well maintained
Responsible for internal branding of Alaraby furnishings and fixtures in coordination with PR and Marketing department
Responsible for incorporating a sustainable environment and obtaining Green Certification for Alaraby.

Manage all contractors on site:
Ensure that all health and safety requirements are met
Monitor performance and inspect and sign off completed work to specification
Contract management of suppliers and procurement, including preparation of tender documents in conjunction with the procurement manager.

Managing site equipment and facilities such as fixtures, fittings, cleaning, waste disposal, catering and parking:
Maintaining building fabric, fixtures and fittings repairs
Managing budgets in line with agreed site finance expenditure, maintain expenditure records
Negotiating the best deals with outside contractors and suppliers and Manage third party suppliers (gardeners, catering etc.)
Progress agreed actions and responsibilities within any agreed Capital Expenditure programme:
Ensure that projects are delivered on time and on budget.
Ensure the agreed annual maintenance plan for all equipment and facilities is carried out. Regularly review progress with the managment.
Carry out monthly review of all service contracts with external suppliers to ensure value for money
Attend scheduled daily team leader operational meetings
Provide weekly/monthly maintenance reports to the Head of Support Services
Ensure standard maintenance procedures are maintained and all maintenance equipment is kept in good condition and in working order
Conduct risk assessments in line with agreed procedures
Challenge existing processes and procedures to standardise, simplify and automate them.

Health & Safety:
Key point of contact for facilities related health and safety matters in the business
Compliance with relevant Health & Safety Legislation
Maintain awareness of all relevant health and safety legislation
Ensure all departmental staff and new joiners are fully trained in health and safety induction
Report all health and safety risks to the H&S consultant, H&S committee
Complete weekly health and safety audit sheet for own department
Collate and publish accurate safety information and update all safety notice boards on site
Monitor and update Company safety policies
You may be required to work on a flexible basis, occasionally out of hours and at weekends as required, Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.

Candidate Profile

Key Skills/ Personal Attributes and Knowledge Required:
An in-depth understanding of essential/relevant EU & UK H&S legislation.
Organisational and planning skills with strong communication
Problem analysis, problem solving skills and decision-making ability
Working experience of health & safety management (IOSH or NEBOSH a qualified).

Qualifications & Experience:
Strong experience in General Services Management including 5 years within a maintenance and facilities role
Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Knowledge and experience in field of Facility Management
Knowledge of current practices and data used in delivering facility maintenance services.

Essentials:
NEBOSH Certificate
Effective Time Management skills
Project management - previous experience of delivering projects on budget/time
Working knowledge of procurement and negotiation and management of external contracts.
