Fabrication Assistant

Job Title: Fabrication Assistant
Department: Rigging
Responsible to: Head of Rigging Department
Hours: 40 over a 5-day week Monday to Friday OR
Location Wimbledon, SW19

The Role Summary
To prepare equipment as instructed by HoD Rigging in the accurate fulfillment of orders and to undertake the final preparation of equipment to a high standard in readiness for delivery to the end customer.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in the preparation/spraying of fabricated elements of d&b orders.
• Support the Rigging department as demand requires.
• Ensure delivery deadlines are met.
• Ensure sufficient stock of paint is kept to meet order demands.
• Maintain the spray and cutting shed to a clean and safe standard at all times.
• Ensure all PPE and safety equipment is well maintained and fit for purpose.
• Regularly check and replace filters when required.
• Ensure all packaging of equipment is fit for purpose.
• Assisting in the specific show preparation of orders.
• Work closely with departments to ensure continuity of equipment preparation and standardisation.
• Identifying & implement areas of improvement to assist with preparation processes.
• Reporting any health and safety issues to line manager.
• Report any unsatisfactory equipment to Quality Manager for review.
• Ensuring the Company's quality standards are maintained at all time.
• Ensuring that the Company's policies, rules, procedures and obligations are observed in

• Methodical approach, conscientious with a good eye for detail.
• Experience in maintenance and use of paint spraying equipment.
• Proven understanding of requirements from customer.
• Understanding of procedures, range of equipment and scope of duties.
• Capable of working to deadlines.

• Prepared to work additional hours when necessary.
• Self motivated and able to work under own initiative as well as part of a team.
• Ability to lead and develop a team.
• Computer experience and a good understanding of the 'Insphire database.
• Copes well under pressure.
• Positive attitude to extra duties and new challenges
• Maintains a safe, clean and hazard-free environment.
• Adheres to the Company's Health and Safety Rules.
• Reliable with a good timekeeping record.
• Ability to follow and undertake safe lifting practices as instructed.
