Experienced 2D Character Designer

Boulder Media is on the lookout for an experienced Character Designer in 2D adult/prime-time animation. It is a full-time, specified-purpose role. The successful candidate will be available to start in January 2024. The closing date for the applications is the 10th of December 2023.

About the Role
As Character Designer, you will be responsible for visualising and creating the look of the individual characters for the show, including character traits and personality required for an exciting project. You'll have stablished production experience. You will work as part of the Art/Design team and liaises closely with the Supervising Director, Art Director, Animation Director, and Rigging Lead.

What We're Looking For

A portfolio of self-initiated and distinctively styled character designs, particularly showcasing Special Poses and turnaround shots.
Previous experience in 2D Adult/Prime-time Animation.
Experience working within a 2D animation production team in a studio environment.
Experience in pre-production character design and look development.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn applicable design software and hardware.
Extensive understanding of the animation production process.
Extensive knowledge of Photoshop.
Strong knowledge of colour, lighting, and posing.
Exceptional drawing skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Flexibility to work with production teams across different time zones.
Task-driven, self-motivated, and proactive.
Must be open to direction and can visually interpret other people's ideas.
Good time management skills and an ability to work to deadlines.
Be able to work within a weekly quota and production schedule.
Ability to work collaboratively and calmly with multiple tasks in a fast-paced production.
Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

On this occasion, only applicants who have 2D Adult/Prime-time Animation experience and portfolios showcasing production experience will be considered for this opportunity.
