Our programmes are distributed by DCD, BBC Worldwide, Sky Vision, DRG, Passion, Drive, TVF and Abacus.We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Executive Producer to lead productions and oversee our Belfast office operations.Role Overview: As an Executive Producer at Tern, you will report to the Tern Managing Director, Harry Bell, and be responsible for managing and overseeing the production of high-end factual programming from concept through to completion. In this senior leadership role, you will also take the key management lead of our Belfast Office, driving production strategy, overseeing a talented team and ensuring the delivery of world-class content. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced producer with a passion for factual television and the ability to lead teams and manage operations in a nations office.Key Responsibilities:Production Leadership:• Oversee the development and production of factual TV content from pre-production to post-production.• Work closely with commissioning editors and production teams to ensure the creative and financial success of projects.• Ensure that all productions meet the highest editorial and technical standards.• In tandem with the Head of Production and Production Executive, manage production budgets and schedules, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time and within budget.• Lead creative discussions, pitching new ideas and maintaining a steady flow of innovative content for the company's slate.Belfast Office Oversight:• Act as the senior representative and lead of the Belfast office, managing office operations, including staffing, budgeting, and day-to-day activities, in tandem with the Production Executive.• Build and nurture strong relationships with local talent, production partners, and stakeholders.• Foster a positive and collaborative culture within the regional office.• Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to regional staff, ensuring they have the resources and support to succeed. Team Management:• Lead, motivate, and manage a team of producers, directors, and production staff to ensure high performance and creative success.• Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.• Act as the point of contact for major production decisions, ensuring all team members are aligned with the vision of the project.Client and Stakeholder Relations:• Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, broadcasters and other stakeholders, ensuring satisfaction and delivering results.• Build strong relationships with industry partners and clients, understanding their needs and expectations.• Represent Tern at industry events and conferences, promoting our brand and building new business opportunities.Key Skills & Experience:• Proven track record as an Executive Producer or senior-level producer in factual TV production.• Extensive experience in managing high-profile factual content, including documentaries.• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide creative teams.• In-depth knowledge of production processes, budgeting, and scheduling for large-scale productions.• Demonstrated success in overseeing the operations or multiple production teams.• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.• Strong understanding of the TV landscape, including emerging trends in factual content.• Ability to think strategically and creatively while maintaining a strong focus on delivery and results.Qualifications:• At least 8+ years of experience in factual TV production, with significant experience in a leadership role.• A network of industry contacts in production.Why Join Us:• Opportunity to lead the production of innovative and impactful factual content.• Competitive salary and benefits package.• Work with a passionate, talented, and collaborative team.• Play a key role in the success of our Belfast office and wider company.Tern is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
