Exec Audio Producer

London

We are seeking an Exec Audio Producer to join the Digital Programming and Production team at Somerset House; supporting the development of our digital programme and Channel, a curated space for art, ideas and artistic process.

This role is for a producer with a wealth of knowledge in working with artists in live/studio environments to provide maternity cover, managing producers working across radio and podcast production, overseeing the delivery of a major audio project in 2025.

The Exec Audio Producer will bring a strategic approach to audio projects and podcast development whilst maintaining an active part in productions, developing creative concepts and podcast outputs, and leading on the technical audio set-up for studio recordings and artist led audio projects for Somerset House channels. You will have previous experience of working in a collaborative way to produce innovative content.

Key Responsibilities
PRODUCTION
Exec produce and oversee the production of audio and podcast content for a wide range of outputs for Somerset House.
Manage other Audio Producers and freelance producers working across audio outputs for the Digital Programme.
Produce and deliver an on going series of podcasts for the Somerset House Podcast, working across creative cultural content for the Studios and Exhibitions, reflecting upon themes in our cultural programme
Oversee and deliver ambitious radio streaming projects working with a variety of formats and artist led outputs, working with tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of production values.

PROGRAMMING

Contribute ideas and develop concepts for the digital programme working with a cross departmental team
Make editorial decisions where required contributing ideas and collaborating with programming teams on audio outputs.
RELEASE STRATEGY
Work with the Head of Digital Programming & Production and Marketing and Press teams to coordinate audience focussed strategies for podcasts, increasing our engagement with new audiences.
Develop release assets and concepts for to visualise the podcast output, coordinating with the Digital Content Producer to develop outputs needed for a variety of platforms.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Advanced level of experience producing audio and podcasts, from devising of concepts, liaising with contributors, interviewing, and editing from conception through to completion.
Leading on productions with management experience, overseeing teams of creative audio producers and sound engineers
Worked with artists and produced audio / radio / podcasts in a creative or media context
Experience researching, writing scripts, and content development
Experience in working within a budget and managing tight production schedules
Advanced knowledge of audio production tools, editing software (Pro Tools / Reaper / Audition.
Advanced editing skills with a creative approach to producing audio work.
Writing skills, understanding tone of voice and writing copy in an accessible way.
Ability to collaborate with artists and realise the creative vision of others whilst providing support, sharing knowledge and insights.
Skills with a range of audio equipment for both field and studio recordings, with ability to work in different environments from self-producing to working as part of a team.
Demonstrable understanding of broadcast standards for audio / radio / podcasts.
