Events Producer

London

We now have an exciting opportunity for an accomplished Events Producer to join the team, the Events Producer will produce and manage all aspects of events. You will demonstrate expertise and financial responsibility from initial idea/concept, consolidating an event brief with stakeholder, through to full event production, completion and evaluation, working across all business areas within BBC Worldwide. You will also coach and mentor event co-ordinators and events team assistant to encourage development throughout.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITY
To take full management responsibility for event plans and produce medium to large scale events for stakeholders within editorial, brand and fair trade guidelines.
To construct budget forecasts for proposed event, agree budget and manage costs within, track and regularly update stakeholders of financial changes.
Develops and produces event critical time paths to ensure an event is delivered on time and within the agreed budget.
Work in consultation with stakeholder to provide good event format and editorial content. To provide good creative content for stakeholder to include, whether team building activity, speaker or talent contribution to meet event objectives.
Responsible for sourcing and engaging with appropriate vendors for the successful execution of the event.
Provides clear briefing documents for suppliers and supporting teams and takes full management to ensure all event paperwork is compiled and clearly communicated timely.
Provide sound advice on event management, logistics and event operational deliveries to ensure smooth management of event.
Plans the operations and logistics to deliver an event against the set strategy and budget. (venue management, AV, branding, catering, staffing, delegate management etc etc)
Sources, appoints and directs third parties as needed to deliver events in compliance with BBC editorial and safeguarding trust guidelines and local safety laws
Provides Health & Safety expertise and manages risks to ensure events are produced safely and the reputation of the BBC is upheld. Ensure all records are up to date with H&S and DDA compliance and legislation, and make sure that every event has the necessary legal paperwork on file and ensure all procedures and controls are adhered to on site.
Operational line management responsibility for event co-ordinators as required by specific events.
Report regularly back on event status updates to senior event team members.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Demonstrate a positive character and thrive in a team environment
Proven experience of managing events from implementation through to completion with good editorial standards and sound production expertise for assessing & appointing suitable and competent suppliers
Effective communication and interpersonal skills at all levels
Excellent attention to detail and level of organisation
Efficient at multitasking, able to manage several projects simultaneously
Possess a creative viewpoint, to design bespoke events according to the event objectives
Knowledgeable health and safety expertise
Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
Collaborative leadership skills, especially managing event teams on site
Demonstrate good understanding of AV requirements for events and ability to write technical briefs to suppliers invited to pitch for business
