Event Manager

London

The Royal Opera House aims to enrich people`s lives through opera and ballet. It seeks to be accessible and engaging, to develop audiences across the UK and to break new ground in the presentation of lyric theatre. As a charity, we could not maintain our reputation, the range of our work, or our digital presence, without the support of our business partners, sponsors, philanthropists and members. In addition to the performances of our work on stage at our heritage theatre site and other venues, and our cinema programme, we also offer learning and participation initiatives for children and adults from across the UK.

The Development and Enterprises Department is looking for an Events Manager to join the Events team, working across a portfolio of fundraising events and venue hire and events. Reporting to the Senior Events Manager, you will work closely with the rest of the team to promote and deliver a range of events as part of our events strategy and programme. This is an opportunity to build on your track record in events promotion and management in a world-class venue and working with some high-profile clients and supporters.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced team player, able to demonstrate these qualities:

A track record in events promotion and events organising and delivery in a high profile organisation
Highly proficient Microsoft Office user, with ability to learn new procedures and systems for venue hire and events management and arrangements
Excellent face-to-face communication and negotiation skills, including experience of dealing with senior level business people and philanthropists
The ability to take on an ambassador role in representing the Royal Opera House when working with both new clients and some of our most valued relationships
Flexibility on working hours, willing to work occasional evenings and weekends
Commitment to managing own learning and continuous professional development relevant to the role
We actively encourage BAME and disabled applicants and value the positive impact difference has on our teams.
