Your key responsibilities:

Sky News is looking for an Editorial Assistant to join the Westminster team. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the news agenda and political brief, the ability to take initiative and strong administrative skills. They must be a good communicator and highly organised. As a member of the Westminster team within Sky News, you'll help drive our political newsgathering and production.

- Supporting the news desk in all aspects of newsgathering
- Welcoming and interviewing guests and politicians
- Providing research on stories and supporting the production process
- Administering all accreditation and travel requirements for the team

Your skills:
- The ability to take initiative in a busy newsroom
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills
- Strong research skills and the ability to spot a news line
- Ability to devise questions for interviewees and conduct interviews at short notice
- A background in journalism and a good knowledge of digital newsgathering will be an advantage.
