We have an exciting opportunity available within our Editorial Department at Emmerdale. The role will be based within the Pre Production team who are responsible for the successful and accurate delivery of timed scripts for onward delivery to the Production Teams.

This role entails...

As our Editorial Assistant you will cover all aspects of scripts for the Pre Production of the programme. These will include importing and formatting scripts, writing scene synopses, reading scripts for production continuity, assisting with the timing of scripts, as well as providing a full administration service to the team.
You will join us with a willingness to learn, together with a proactive and adaptable approach when working with different people and shifting priorities.

Some Key Responsibilities:
-Prepare all aspects of scripts for the Pre Production of the programme.
-Receive all script versions from the writers and process these in Nucleus ensuring consistent formatting.
-Work alongside the Script Editors to issue amendments to the cast and crew for blocks that are in production.
-Input of script amendments into Nucleus and assist with the publishing of timed shooting scripts.
-Liaise with the Print Room to ensure that scripts are sent to print on time and are effectively distributed to all relevant individuals.
-Assist with the timing of draft scripts as and when required to do so.
-Assist with reading scripts for Compliance and Negative Checking issues and with reading the Shooting Scripts for continuity issues, highlighting any inconsistencies.
-Provide administration to the Nucleus script system including creating projects and user accounts, allocating permissions, and updating and maintaining the database.
-Provide cover for the team during absence and provide support for the Coronation Street Pre Production team as required.

To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:
-Experience working in Television.
-Good knowledge of TV production and its processes.
-Experience in an administrative role.
-Excellent written communication skills.
-Demonstrable experience coordinating projects.
-Experience in a role where you've worked in isolation and had to use your own initiative.
-Knowledge of Google Drive- docs, slides, sheets.
-Excellent attention to Detail.
