Editor \ Digital Designer

London W1

This role is an exciting, dynamic position within the company covering all aspects of digital design and associated duties, requiring a good foundation background in digital media. Working effectively as part of a team, the successful candidate will have the ability to develop and manage the day to day customer relationships with excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills. Experience of digital signage networks and content management tools would be desirable.


Responsibilities and Key Activities;

Editing
Performing various editing requirements for our customers. This will range from editing corporate videos, commercial advertising to football highlights and player interviews
Encoding
Understand the various industry standard formats, the advantage and disadvantages of their use
Understand transcoding software
Encode files form tape
Graphics Production
Use of editing and motion graphics packages (Premier, and After Effects primarily) along with a solid foundation in relevant design software (Photoshop and Illustrator etc) is essential to this role
Create overlay graphics for videos
Produce HTML and Flash designs for digital signage use
Sales Support
Produce material to support sales presentations
Customer Support
Support end users of our online content management system Magic Publisher and Digital Signage software DMC-DS
Transcription of video files
Liaise with customers with regard encoding specifications and content delivery
Onsite Events
Set up and operate onsite live video streaming events. This will include camera, lighting and IP encoder operations
Operate and produce highlights at Premier League football clubs


Key Skills Required;
Understanding of a fast turnaround video editing environment
Previous work experience in a production and or new media/digital environment
Flexibility in terms of working hours (some weekend work may be required)
Strong organisational skills
Able to work under pressure and to manage own workload and schedule
Must be able to show experience of being pro-active and have a high attention to detail
Meeting clients or account managers to discuss the business objectives and requirements of the job
Interpreting the client's business needs and developing a concept to suit their purpose
Estimating the time required to complete the work and providing quotes for clients
Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts
Using innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time
The successful candidate will be a required from time to time to work offsite at events


The designer should be very proficient in the following applications:
Photoshop
Illustrator
Flash
Video compression and transcoding software (Sorenson Squeeze)
After Effects
Premier
Final Cut Pro
FTP Applications
MS Office; Word, Excel, Outlook


It would be an advantage if you also had an understanding any of the following skills;
Video Camera Operation \ Sound \ Lighting
Flash programming
JavaScript programming
HTML programming
Computer & network troubleshooting
