Edit Technician

London

Working across all our Broadcast and Digital platforms the Edit Technician will be responsible for Media Management, ensuring workflows are adhered to across all areas of the business and will be the first line support for our Avid edit suites.

Responsibilities
To implement shooting/editing workflows with supervision from the Head of Post Production, i.e. discuss cameras with shooting teams and data wrangling processes
Standard Edit Technician duties including but not limited to: ingesting/ digitizing to Avid from various formats and file types, digital and tape playouts, Avid conforms and online edit preparation
Deal with various technical issues as they arise, under supervision from the Head of Post Production
Media management on the ISIS shared storage systems and various NAS drives
LTO Archiving of digital assets
Introducing new freelancers to our systems
Maintain edit suites in good working order by noting problems and seeking appropriate remedy with the Head of Post Production or appropriate ITN managers/support staff

Qualifications
Solid experience of working with Avid Media Composer, ISIS, Content Agent
Solid experience of using both tape and tapeless formats
Familiar with Avid Newscutters
Confidence with file conversions
A good understanding of technical requirements for both digital and broadcast outputs
PC and MS Office literate
Ability to prioritise and multi-task
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Calm under pressure
Self-organised
Ability to create and maintain good relationships
Happy to work early/day/night shifts and occasional weekend work often at last minute
MCR experience is advantageous, as the role includes some tape dubbing and patching of decks for assorted workflows
