You will work as part of a team of 3 Edit Assistants. You will carry out essential support work for our Post Production and Studio Facilities in the Content Hub. Perform basic edits, support edit suites during editing of material to clients' requirements, work on operational workflows within Viacom, assist with VT work, take part in key live events and ensure high professional standards are met when delivering content and when working with colleagues and clients. Support the Content Hub team with all duties working on a shift pattern within the team.

Job Key Responsibilities
• To prepare and check edit suites daily, including starting up and shutting down equipment, and preparing sessions for editors, troubleshooting and supporting all Post Production work.

• To assist internal and external editors to ensure work is produced to the correct technical standard for VIMN broadcast

• Understanding all aspects of the VIMN Technical specification in order to deliver materials correctly

• Good knowledge of VTR machines for ingest, tape layoffs and live feed records

• Striping tape stock

• Media manage and ingest material for daily edits

• Technical troubleshooting

• Basic editing using Adobe Premiere Pro

• Digitising/ Ingesting tape & digital rushes from camera cards

• Regular tech cleans

• Support workflows for audio sessions in protools including transcoding and OMF exports

• Job management of individual job sheets - accurate reporting of work done to achieve jobs

• Media management, archiving and weekly reports

• To conform media, produce OMFIs, EDLS, import & export multiple file types

• To complete labels, record reports and any necessary paperwork for all tapes created in Post Production

• Keep on top of daily/weekly workload and effective feedback on status of jobs to the Post Production Co-ordinator

• Set up of studio D and HD Studio

• Ensure technical integrity of all materials being delivered/perform 3 point spot checks on all outgoing material.

• Operate, patch & un-patch MCR equipment in order to complete jobs to specification

• Working with the team to ensure timely delivery of files and tapes

Job Role Skills
• Experience of working in a Post Production facility or department

• Excellent technical and operational knowledge of non-linear editing, digital file formats and tape formats

• Knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro an advantage

• Experience of liaising directly with clients

• Basic editing skills

• Good knowledge of HD and SD tape formats

• Good technical knowledge and understanding of file and content delivery workflows

• Ability to digitise/ ingest material from various formats

• Excellent team player

• High level of organisational skills

• Good communication skills - ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members on other rosters and department manager.

• High level of self-motivation and pro-active approach to workload

• Enthusiasm to continue to learn, show initiative and willingness to improve skills

• Ability to work under pressure to quick deadlines

• Experience of working on live events an advantage

• Positive and willing attitude at all times

• Methodical approach to completing jobs

• Good problem solving abilities and to explore possible solutions
