Edit Assistant

London

Role: Edit Assistant
Your role will be to assist in all elements of the edit process. To be on hand for all post-production tasks as required in this fast paced production company. Your main duties will be to ingest media from digital shoots into the edit system, cataloguing and titling all files so they can be found by editors. Managing media workflows in the edit including making sure editors have what they need for the day. Qc'ing rushes and projects to make sure there are no technical glitches, assisting editors with rough cuts, sourcing music and stills. Backing up files and making sure projects are archived properly. Assisting where needed in this busy department.
The role requires a technically proficient person. You'll be expected to manage your own time efficiently and to work flexibly to fulfil the role. This could include shifts at night and on weekends. You'll need a friendly attitude and a willingness to work co-operatively as part of a team. You should have the ability to assess priorities and adapt to fast changing circumstances and be able to work under pressure to set deadlines. You'll be required to undertake a range of operational duties and to assist Editors as and when required. Establishing and maintaining good management of media, operational and technical standards.

Responsibilities:
• Solve basic technical issues that may arise in our Offline and Online edit suites.
• Assist Editors with Ingest and prep rushes for edit
• Syncing and organising rushes
• Creating sync pulls
• Exports and uploads for viewings
• Conform locked cuts and prep for online
• Clipping videos on Adobe Premier across all current existing YouTube channels.
• Exporting and preparing video for web.
• Log and capture all footage off camera and prepare for edit - Data Wrangling.
• Assemble rough cuts and assist other editors when needed.
• Editing content and re packaging pre-edited content
• Convert footage into different digital formats.
• Media Management. Cataloguing rushes, managing storage.

Requirements:
• Experienced with Adobe Premier user.
• Must have excellent organisational skills.
• A confident technical ability and understanding of edit process.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Excellent time management.
• The ability to juggle tasks effectively and prioritise requests from different quarters, especially if shooting/post-production schedules overlap
• Has a passion for video, You Tube and other online platforms and has a grasp of how online content is produced and cut.
• Is comfortable using Mac.
• Can work under pressure and to very tight deadlines
• Good communication skills and be able to work effectively with all members of the production team.
• An interest in developing editing skills by assisting directors/editors with sequence assemblies, creating promos and web content.

A plus but not essential:
• Experience working with After Effects desirable but not essential.
• Has an understanding of the technical processes involved in content production, including camera, lighting and sound - desirable but not essential.
• 2nd language an advantage but not essential
• Interest in Football, Sports and Entertainment Formats an advantage. A knowledge of football players and teams.
• Experience Uploading onto YouTube and creating GFX such as thumbnails and banners

Three-month full-time contract with the opportunity to extend thereafter.
