We are looking for someone with previous natural history Edit Asst/Asst Editor experience to work closely with the editor on a premium series for the BBC due to deliver end 2022.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who can already edit in Avid and has experience of cutting natural history content to take their editing career to the next level.
The successful candidate will be mentored by the editor to develop their story telling skills as well as creating selects, working with producers to cut pre-edits, and liaising with post production staff and post facilities. He/she will also learn and take on basic graphics work and be in charge of managing project workflows and media after the ingesting process has been completed.
The successful candidate will possess a high level of organisational skills as he/she will be working with large amounts of material across multiple projects. He/she will need to be flexible, able to prioritise, and willing to jump in with different tasks as needed to support the editor as well as being highly self-motivated and able to take the initiative to troubleshoot and problem solve.
An ability to work effectively under pressure, communicate well, and enjoy being part of a team are equally essential. In return for this rare opportunity to bridge the gap between assistant to editor we require commitment from now through to delivery at the end of 2022.

Essential experience:
• A good understanding of natural history workflows
• Working with large amounts of material
• Competent using Avid Media Composer
• Experience in cutting natural history material and working with producers
Desirable experience:
• Working with GFX within Avid Media Composer and basic compositing
• Experience with After Effects and basic motion graphics
• Understanding of use of music and sound'
