Main Purpose of Role
London Real is seeking to appoint an experienced Documentary Filmmaker who will be responsible for helping the brand continue to create full length documentary films about our activities and adventures over the past years.
Focusing on developing high production quality documentaries that help illuminate our incredible story, the Documentary Filmmaker will be involved in all aspects of the filmmaking from scripting, creating, editing, and post production.
We have a distinctive style of filmmaking which combines archival footage, voiceovers, and new shots in order to create a compelling, didactic narrative, which have been watched tens of millions of times by our YouTube and website audiences.

We are looking for an experienced, passionate and dynamic filmmaker who can help craft narratives and realise this story arc through the entire filmmaking process.
This position will have direct access to Brian Rose and the senior team as well as use of all of our ten years of London Real archive footage including interviews, vlogs and behind the scenes materials.
You will need a proven track record of successfully scripting, filming and editing at least two full-length documentary films.
The ideal candidate will be familiar with London Real and its work, and be an advocate for freedom of speech, as well as having an interest in politics and the importance of free speech to the political process. The candidate will be an experienced creative professional with a proven track record realising incredible documentary content.
Other key responsibilities
• Work with the senior leadership team to develop storylines for documentary productions
• Craft messaging, develop content and identify assets to help tell moving image based stories
• Manage overall documentary production process including internal resource, assets and other aspects of the creative journey
• Be responsible for the overall look, design, and brand of the documentary
• Develop scripts, storyboards and work with business stakeholders to create world class documentary productions
• Manage and review assets, source materials and lead video production to assemble materials
• Hold meetings with key departments such as video, design and other departments during the planning stages and throughout the editing process
• Agree and manage schedules of documentary film productions
• Select soundtracks for the final film and/or work with the wider team to determine the musical score
• Supervise all creative aspects of the production
• Have an awareness and knowledge of emerging industry trends
Experience/Requirements
• At least 5 years' experience as a director and filmmaker
• A demonstrable track record of delivering successful films from start to finish
• An in-depth understanding and knowledge of cameras
• A strong understanding of the video editing process
• At least 5 years post production experience
• Proven storytelling experience
• Demonstrable motivational and leadership skills
