The DIT/Edit Assistant is responsible for managing data, organising rushes, setting up multicam sequences, creating first pass technical edits and ensuring smooth data workflows across original shows and brand partnerships. Reporting to central production leadership team and working closely with Producers and Video Editors to meet their needs, the DIT/Edit Assistant ensures smooth management of data from raw content into compressed, graded, and backed up rushes.This role is ideal for candidates who are brand new to the industry and looking to learn the ropes in a fast paced production environment. A working knowledge of camera equipment, editing software, and some hands on experience through education or passion projects is required.Responsibilities:Data Management: Organise, log, and manage all rushes and harddrives efficiently across shared storage systems GoogleDrive Desktop and EditShareTranscoding & Logging: Manage transcoding of rushes, ensuring that all media is properly prepared for editing and compressed in the correct way. Handle the logging of materials for seamless handovers to freelance editors.Technical Support: Provide troubleshooting for footage access, offering support to both in-house and freelance editors using our central storage servers.Sync and Multicam: Organise all rushes into synced multicam files for used by the wider editing teamColour grade: Apply an approved LUT/grade to all transcoded material, identify inconsistencies or errors in colour that need correctionTechnical Editing: Contribute to the editing process by creating first pass edits of original shows and branded content partnerships.System Maintenance and Template Enforcement: Maintain a good working knowledge of shared storage systems and ensure folder structures and ways of working are followedRequirements: Data Management: Strong organisational skills in managing rushes, transcoding, and maintaining shared storage systems, ensuring all projects are logged and accessible.Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Adobe editing systems with the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly, reducing disruption to the post-production process.Teamwork & Support: Collaborate effectively with editors, providing technical and operational support, while ensuring smooth coordination between teams.Problem Solving & Adaptability: Ability to identify and resolve issues in the post-production workflow, adapting to different challenges while maintaining focus on deadlines and quality.
