National Geographic Partners are looking for a Director of Production to join Basecamp EMEA, the UK based global partnerships team and to lead partner content production and delivery across NG platforms. This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of a busy, creative client solutions team across the National Geographic linear, digital and social platforms, to manage the production of content and campaign deliverables for some of the most exciting brands in the world.

We're looking for a passionate team-player who can support and collaborate with the Client Solutions matrix of Content Strategists, global sales, production, talent management, editorial and distribution team and finance working across multiple markets and time zones.

As our Director of Production, you:
Have huge enthusiasm for storytelling across digital, social media and linear platforms as well as print. You would be able to turn complex information into achievable production plans that are able to deliver on time, on budget that drive campaign KPIs.
Will have a broad range of production experience and a solid consistent practice working for brands.
Have your own ideas on how productions should be managed built on years of practice and will be keen to adapt that knowledge and build on it in this role.
An advocate for communication and efficiency, great at keeping the plates spinning on multiple projects at once.
Are calm in the knowledge that your systems are dependable and flexible as plans change.
Have a client service mentality and have the ability to see far down the road, anticipate any bumps and lead from the front.

What you'll do
The Director of Production, Client Solutions (DoP) will lead the essential project management function of Basecamp EMEA, the global custom studio of National Geographic Partners (NGP) and part of the overall revenue-generating business. The DoP will have a Production Manager reporting directly into the position as part of the core team. You will liaise with internal stakeholders in Washington, Madrid and with clients across the globe on a daily basis.

You will be managing a large amount of creative projects ranging from sales assets to talent-led global film projects, from social media content campaigns to magazine articles and events.

There is no one-size fits-all solution to every project and, as DoP, you will responsible for building production management processes that make sense for the organisation and smoothly deliver multiple International editorial and commercial projects. These range from large-scale multi-media integrated partnerships to smaller commercial campaigns concurrently - with bespoke levels of production inputs and outputs.

This is a role for an organised and focussed individual who is comfortable with changes in direction, used to working across digital/social platforms, a variety of content genres and has experience across a wide range of advertising sectors. The DoP will keep an eye on the detail, together with the PM whilst having responsibility overall for scheduling resources, the business/brand objectives and delivering KPI's. Success will be measured by building smooth processes that have communication and information at the heart, to manage the production pipeline and to set the bar high for standards across the whole group, contributing towards best practice for future project management.

Responsibilities:
Lead a robust production management solution to compliment creative development. Personally lead and oversee campaign execution and delivery during all project phases, including concept stage but primarily throughout production cycle including management of post-campaign deliverables, shepherding them meticulously through all stages of delivery, to include:

Devise and improve production processes that work for our business.
Responsible for preparing, managing and monitoring production budgets, for forecasting and reporting progress; identifying and mitigating any risks, ensuring deals are delivering the best value for money and within cost of sale (COS) margin and to maintain deadlines.
Apply a level of production principles to proposals at the outset before submission to client
Responsibility for assessing needs and requirements to deliver projects and scoping out appropriate production partners, staffing and resource requirements for individual productions where scales can be both small and large, building bespoke teams around production needs to ensure smooth project launch
Become 'logic check' partner for all creative ideas - from both internal production teams and for external commissions - for feasibility with regards to budgets, production resources and timescales.
Organise internal stakeholder meetings and participate in briefs at concept stage.
Be accountable for ensuring all deliverables meet agreed deadlines and that post-production paperwork is complete and accurate.Manage client timelines and expectations, undertaking regular communication, reporting, status and debrief calls with all stakeholders.
Develop easily shared project tracking and reporting processes
Track payment process with Accounts Payable and externals, PO's invoices etc.
Develop a thorough working knowledge of National Geographic's media platforms, technologies and processes - identifying knowledge gaps and taking the necessary steps to fill them.

Qualifications and Experience:
Significant experience within the client solutions division in another media organisation or content/production agency. The successful candidate will need to display aptitude for good team working, support for colleagues and the ability to juggle a number of different tasks at any one time whilst staying calm under pressure.

Key/Mandatory
Proven experience of project management in a media environment, specifically within branded content creation leading multi-stakeholder projects across digital, print and TV and social media platforms
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal): ability to act tactfully and persuasively with a wide range of people at all levels

Understanding of advertising, digital media and the solution response process.
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, you will have the natural ability to plan and manage your own workload around deadlines.
Mentality: Cool under pressure: able to handle tight timelines, the impact of adverse events and issues that threaten delivery and maintain a calm influence over project stakeholders and a positive can-do attitude.
Flexibility: adapt and work effectively with a variety of different time zones, situations, individuals or groups
Complete fluency in Excel is essential - Extensive knowledge of production planning, budgeting and spreadsheet management
A high level of competency in all other Microsoft office applications is also required
Well-presented individual who feels comfortable working with multiple departments, with excellent relationship building skills internally and externally with clients, talent and media agencies

Desirable

Desirable skills with local/cloud-based collaborative project and time management tools e.g Monday.com, Wrike, Toggl, Trello, Harvest, Timely, Asana.
