Digital Producer

Glasgow

At Twig Education we're passionate about science education. We care about what we do and how we do it. We aim to bring a sprinkle of magic into the classroom.

Since launching in 2011, our resources are now used by hundreds of thousands of teachers, in over 60 countries and in 19 different languages. Our award-winning videos, digital resources and lesson materials are created in our head offices in Glasgow, near Kelvingrove Park, by a team of around 80 educators, filmmakers, designers, developers, writers, academics and parents.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our films and are currently seeking an experienced Digital Producer who understands the potential of video as a learning tool, to lead an exciting science project for teenagers in the United States.

The role will include working with the Education, Film and Technical Development departments to deliver Twig Movie Maker, a browser based video editing tool which supports students to solidify learning through creativity and storytelling.

This is a full-time position, with an immediate/February start date, initially on a 10-month contract with a view to extension for the right candidate.

Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate must have experience working in education or with educational content, and understand how video production can provide active learning experiences for young people. You will have previously produced interactive digital content and an awareness of Content Management Systems would be an advantage. You will also understand short-form storytelling, across science or factual content, and have some experience in scriptwriting. Basic video editing skills, or the ability to work with an editor to produce short factual films, is a must.

You will be a self-starter with a proven track record of delivering to deadlines, and have excellent organisational and asset management skills.

Please note this is not an entry-level role - we need someone who can hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Twig Education and Film teams to create week-long science challenges, where the end goal is for students to produce a short film to demonstrate what they have learned
- Collate multimedia research packs for students using existing Twig material, commissioning new content where required
- Work with the film team to collate footage banks for students and produce exemplar films
- Work with the Education team to produce teacher and student instructional material
- Liaise with internal and external teams to ensure editorial needs are met at product level
- Look for opportunities to integrate Twig Movie Maker into core instructional resources
- Work with the Rights Management team to check video material, stills and music are clearable
