The Digital Ingest Technician will sit within the Production team and will report to the Head of Production Management. This role is vital to ensure the smooth running of the digital workflow process within the whole company.

From uploading and creating new view only files for internal teams, and receiving audio files for our internal Audio department, to delivering the whole series to our global broadcasters. The successful candidate must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of this meticulous process and enjoy being part of the production team.

What you'll do
* Diligently manage all technical deliveries, and ingesting of files both in and out of Acamar for all productions - ensuring that the utmost care and attention are taken at every step of the process, and communicated back to the team daily.
* To work with the Post Production Coordinator to ensure that content received from external suppliers (e.g. dubbing studios) is editorially QC'd and ingested correctly.
* Process and distribute all inbound files to the relevant teams, via the server, cloud server, Vimeo, Google Drive and Dropbox.
* Manage all of the production assets on the internal server system.
* Manage uploads to third party platforms and external partners.
* Accurate catalogue assets into the Acamar Film's digital library.
* Ensure all technical specifications are strictly adhered to
* To ensure that existing digital production assets (Audio and Video) are labelled and catalogued appropriately.
* Manage and maintain the Vimeo platform.
* Work with various departments within the company to help source production asset files that are required.
* Ensure security guidelines are always followed, and assets are protected.
* Identify technical and operational issues and escalate via the proper channels without delay, and with a solutions oriented mindset.
* Follow department workflows accurately,suggesting improvements as needed and identified.
* Support the global sales team with technical enquiries relating to Acamar's digital assets. (Video and Audio) .
* To work with the video production and the audio team to ensure that the video and audio assets are maintained and kept up to date and in an orderly manner.
* To work with the Post Production Coordinator to devise and maintain digital workflows/pipelines.
* Manage the daily & weekly storage maintenance, adhering to company file storage policies.

What you'll bring
* An efficient and logical approach to file storage, movement and management.
* In-depth knowledge of industry-standard media file formats (primarily video & audio).
* Meticulous attention to detail, and a keen eye for spotting and flagging anomalies, whilst offering solutions
* Previous experience (2 years +) in an MCR, media ingesting role within a production company
* Have an understanding of the post-production workflow and knowledge of the series animation process.
* Solid understanding of various distribution methods e.g. file acceleration, FTP and Cloud technologies
* Ability to interpret automated QC reports to identify problems, and either to provide a fix or to reach out to the relevant parties.
* A proactive approach, that is solutions focused - making suggestions for improvements where necessary and understanding when to draw on support, where appropriate
* Well organised, inquisitive, & punctual individual.
* A strong team player, who is also able to work independently and make effective, calculated decisions.

Essential Skills
* In depth knowledge of video file formats.
* In depth knowledge of audio file formats.
* Comprehensive experience in using a Media Asset Management System - or similar.
* Working knowledge of Avid Pro Tools.
* Experience working with Cloud Storage platforms.
* Strong IT skills; an ability to troubleshoot software & hardware issues
* Proficient knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Media Encoder or similar software.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Docs.
