Digital Editor

London

Warner Bros. Discovery Sports has a fantastic opportunity to work with WBD Sports covering the biggest sporting events of the summer under our extensive rights portfolio, culminating in the greatest sporting event on earth, the Olympic Games Paris 2024, on an initial three-month position.

We are looking work with a talented freelance sports journalist to supplement our existing team working across TNT Sports and Eurosport's English-language, written digital output on our free web and app platforms, starting in May and assisting our coverage of our major rights events including the end of the Premier League season and UEFA competitions; the French Open and Wimbledon Grand Slams; and the Tour de France.

When Paris 2024 starts, this unique opportunity will give successful candidates the chance to help manage our written content output, in a variety of roles, across 17 days and 32 sports as the Olympics returns to Europe for the first time since London 2012.

It could involve running our main live text coverage of the day or night in Paris; producing written reports and quote pieces around the biggest, events, athletes and stories as the Games unfold; managing homepages across brands and platforms; and subbing written copy and publishing videos.

Eurosport is an official rightsholder of the Olympic Games and our written content will sit alongside a compelling offer of free-to-air video clips showcasing the best of the action and our broadcast. Meanwhile, our streaming platform discovery+ is the Streaming Home of the Olympics, and the only place you can watch every moment of Paris 2024 live.

Weekend and evening work is to be expected across this period as a member of a team covering elite sport. The team supporting WBD Sports will then grow significantly for the period of the Olympics with various roles across three different shift times to cover the breadth of the Paris day. Ability to attend in person in our London office is highly desirable.

This opportunity is offered on a temporary contract from approx. mid-May to mid-August 2024.

Please note that this is a temporary opportunity and for the duration of this contract you will be engaged by a third party agency partnered with Warner Bros. Discovery. You will not be an employee of, or directly engaged by, Warner Bros. Discovery.
