Job description
We are seeking a versatile Digital Content Producer to bring digital expertise to the Treasury ministerial team, helping communicate economic policy effectively to the public.
Reporting to the Head of Channels, you will work closely with the Head of Content and production team (videographer, photographer, designer) to create engaging videos, photos and social media content that aligns with HM Treasury's digital strategy. You'll advise on digital best practice, identify creative content opportunities, and use hands-on production skills to deliver high-quality content that meets departmental standards.
You'll be comfortable drafting copy one moment and picking up a camera the next, always grounded in what works digitally. You'll also provide flexible support to the wider digital team during major campaigns and fiscal events.

Key Responsibilities
Work with the Treasury ministerial team to identify creative content opportunities that explain economic policy in engaging, accessible ways
Advise ministers and their offices on effective content formats, digital best practice and what resonates with audiences
Collaborate daily with the videographer, photographer and designer on content production, maintaining quality and consistency
Shoot simple videos and photos at Treasury events, ministerial visits and policy announcements
Edit video content and draft social media copy for ministerial and departmental channels
Work with the Head of Channels to deliver engaging content for HM Treasury's official social media accounts
Translate complex policy information into clear content grounded in audience insight and what works digitally
Support the development of creative content formats including graphics, short-form video and multimedia assets
Ensure all content meets departmental quality standards, aligns with HM Treasury's digital strategy and complies with propriety requirements
Provide production support to the content team during busy periods, including editing and asset management
Support the GOV.UK publishing team with document preparation and formatting when needed
Maintain HM Treasury's digital asset library
Work flexibly across the digital team, particularly during major campaigns and fiscal events such as Budgets and Spending Reviews
Essential Skills and Experience
Strong understanding of digital best practice with evidence of creating effective content across video, photography and social media platforms
Comfortable picking up a camera and creating visual content, with basic video editing skills or willingness to learn quickly
Excellent written communication skills with ability to translate complex policy information into clear, engaging digital content
Confidence to advise senior stakeholders on digital content, providing constructive recommendations grounded in what works for audiences
Proven ability to work flexibly across different tasks and respond quickly to changing priorities while maintaining professional boundaries
Meticulous approach to quality control with ability to maintain high standards and ensure content aligns with departmental strategy
Natural team player who works effectively across the digital team and wider communications function
Understanding of the political and policy environment, with good judgement about sensitive content and propriety requirements
Desirable Skills
Experience working in government communications or a similarly regulated environment
Familiarity with GOV.UK publishing standards and accessibility requirements for online publications
