This role is about digital storytelling by creating online media-rich packages including words, pictures, video, audio, live blogs and other interactive online tools and using innovative techniques that grow audiences and engagement.Researching, reporting and writing content, responsive to data analytics and audience trends.Using audience data and search criteria to write quality journalism to high editorial standards for website content on topics that reach specific target audiences.Sourcing and generating stories and video content that will help drive audience growth and reach key target audience communities - both for our forces.net website and our social platforms.Enhance our online visibility using a range of digital formats, techniques and tools.Working with broadcast entertainment and news teams, to identify digital opportunities from our daily radio and entertainment output.Shaping, curating and subbing content created by BFBS teams or developing UGC (and substantiating rights, copyright and accuracy of third-party content).Sharing digital ideas and collaborating with our teams across the corporation.To be successful in this position, the right person will have;A good understanding of online content production, digital publishing including SEO and savvy social media practices.Will possess up-to-date legal knowledge including IPSO / OFCOM regulations.Should have a NCTJ-accredited journalism qualification or equivalent professional training.A self-starter, keen to get involved and roll their sleeves up, reporting and writing skills, be creative, ability to sub-edit and curate written editorial copy.You will need common sense, excellent interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude. You must be good at juggling several tasks and work autonomously and with integrity.We would appreciate the following skills; however, they are not essential; Experience in digital journalism/desktop editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro. Audio editing skills in creation of podcasts. Experience of live blogging / live streaming /social media publishing.
