This is a 12 month FTC and can be based in Edinburgh or London.About the RoleAs part of the External Communications team the Digital Communications and Content Manager will support the Head of Content in overseeing a dynamic, engaging and strategic social media presence for our abrdn corporate accounts.The role holder will also be heavily involved in creating, curating and commissioning content for our News and Insight on abrdn.com, and building connection to this through our social media channels to drive increasing traffic.Key Responsibilities:Play a key role in the External Communications team, publishing across a number of external digital channels such as abrdn.com and corporate social media channels.You'll report to the (incoming) Head of Content within the External Communications teamYou'll be part of a team of four who has responsibility for a broad range of external digital channels so you'll be expected to work flexibly with colleagues and across channelsYou will have the opportunity to build and manage relationships with professionals across the business and with our external agenciesSkills and ExperienceEssential:Understand writing for online and social media principles and practicalitiesUnderstand accessibility principles and practicalities, and fundamentals of visual designConfident working with various forms multimedia, including image managementCapable of working across multiple digital platforms to manage different channels, including social media channels and analyticsConfident of publishing and monitoring social media corporate accounts, including management of campaigns, reporting and organil activityConversant with principles of UX, SEO and measurementDesirable:Understanding and knowledge of emerging technology landscape (for internal and external channels)Knowledge and experience of HTML, CSS and JavascriptThorough knowledge of UX, SEO, measurement and critical metricsExperience with information architecture and user interface best practiceMultimedia skills beyond basic image amendmentVideo skillsCompetencies:Comfortable working as part of a team that operates flexibly across a variety of internal and external digital channelsConfident in trying to resolve problems and self-managing workExcellent relationship skills - work proactively with key business stakeholders and suppliersAble to help refine a business requirement and translate it into an outcomeAble to prioritise work effectively, manage your time, attention to detail and work to tight and changing deadlinesAble to contribute constructively to team and project discussions using personal experience and skills to advise, guide and challenge
