Development Assistant Producer / Development Producer

London

Job Introduction - Development Assistant Producer / Development Producer (Three month contract, with the possibility of renewal)

Mosaic Films is a small, multi-award winning independent production company which specialised in documentary and animation. In the past we've produced feature documentaries (such as Out of Thin Air for BBC/Netflix), series (such as The Tube/ A Year in Tibet), singles (including the RTS winning To Courtney With Love) and a whole raft of short-form animated content, including the BAFTA-winning series "Seeking Refuge" and "Animated Minds".

We are seeking a Development Producer / Development Assistant Producer to work in our East London studio in close collaboration with the Executive Producers to originate ideas and move our slate forward with drive and creative vision, and passion.

The successful candidates will know of, and have a passion for our output, but also have ideas on how to develop our slate. We are driven by a need to make socially engaging documentaries and animation - mostly with purpose and point - and although we would like to extend our portfolio with more commercially orientated output, we still want to hang on to the heart of what we do : engaging, intellectually curious, impactful work.

Selected candidates will develop projects independently or in collaboration with the rest of the team, depending on experience. Development may focus on TV singles or series, but will also include creative documentaries that are financed through international co-production. As such you should be familiar with different approaches to financing as well as the writing and preparing of materials for broadcasters, film foundations, national film agencies etc. You should have some basic knowledge of how documentaries are financed through international co-production and attendance or familiar with the main markets would be an advantage.

Because of the specific skill set that this post requires, we are advertising for either a Development Assistant Producer or Development Producer and will award either or both, depending on experience.
