Development Artist

London

We are looking for a flexible and multi-skilled artist to join our developments team, contribute to the Storyboard development and/or visual design of new ideas and help produce relevant pitch materials, such as animatics, sales sheets, pitch bibles and powerpoint presentations.

Primarily the role would be as a storyboard artist who can help develop storylines within animatics, but we are also looking for someone who can contribute to design work, whether that be their own designs when relevant or helping to find appropriate artists and providing relevant direction. As mentioned above the role would also require some graphic design work to be undertaken in the visual preparation of both printed and digital pitch materials.

Key Responsibilities

Storyboarding work ranging from rough thumbnails to cleaned up, polished boards
Editing rough Animatics in premiere.
Contributing to visual development,
Supporting visual development with design contributions when needed
Research and supervise project specific designers
Graphic design and visual layout of pitch documents, such as Sales Sheets, Pitch Bibles and Digital Presentations.

Additional Duties

Adapt to the needs of the project.
Take on leadership role on projects if necessary.

Required Skills

Some previous experience with Storyboards.
An understanding of editing industry software.
Skilled with Photoshop with a keen eye for design.
An understanding of Print Requirements and Digital document preparation would be useful.
Knowledge of other visual and animation software helpful, but not required, for example - Indesign, Adobe Illustrator, AE or similar compositing software, Maya, Powerpoint or Googlesheets.

Personal Skills

Good communication skills, able to work collaboratively as part of a team and but equally comfortable working independently and taking initiative when needed.
Good time management skills, able to problem solve and deliver on schedule, working under pressure if required.
Flexible, will enjoy the challenge of adapting skillset to the needs of the project.
Ability to contribute ideas when needed.

Required Experience

Some previous storyboarding and/or production design work.
Previous experience within the animation industry.
