The Opera House, Manchester, is one of the leading commercially operated theatres in the North West, successfully hosting a huge variety of performances from the largest pantomime in the region to internationally acclaimed musicals, Operas and Ballets, in addition to regular one night gigs from premiere comedians and music acts.

This is an excellent opportunity to join our strong technical team as Deputy Chief Electrician, working as a member of our technical department to ensure the smooth running of the technical aspects of all visiting performances, whilst attending to all technical needs of the building itself.

Key Responsibilities: To assist the Chief Electrician in ensuring the smooth running of fit ups, get outs and shows, in line with visiting company requirements and appropriate health & safety legislation.
To assist the Chief Electrician to ensure that the electrical installation within the venue is safe and that faults are dealt with promptly.
To assist in the servicing, maintenance and installation of electrical materials / equipment in line with the Institute of Electrical Engineers Regulations.
To implement and comply with the company Health & Safety Policy, maintaining the safest possible environment for your colleagues, visiting companies and customers.
To deputise for the Chief Electrician in his/her absence, and work with the Chief Electrician and Stage department to ensure appropriate management cover within the venue at all times.
To complete regular inspections of electrical equipment within the venue and to carry out PAT testing in line with Health and Safety legislative requirements.
To plan and implement a preventative maintenance programme for the electrical aspects of the venue, alongside the Chief Electrician.
To assist the Chief Electrician in the training and performance monitoring of the LX team, in line with company policy and health & safety requirements.
Any other reasonable duties as required by Management.
