Data I/O Operator

London

Picture Shop Post seeks a Data I/O Operator to work in our Lexington Street offices.

The role involves physical and digital delivery across all formats, encoding to various codecs, extraction & archiving to digital media formats and sending/receiving files over external networks and applications (e.g. Aspera).
The successful candidate will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining network/SAN directories whilst adhering to Technicolor's system implementation policies and standards.

Key responsibilities:
• Data transfers using Aspera and various other secure transfer technologies
• Data asset management via CLI (command line interface).
• Perform tasks on different types of physical assets (i.e. format, archive, ingest media on LTO and hard drives)
• File creation and AQC as per client specifications
• Manage user accounts on various servers
• Adhere to Picture Shop Post's policies and standards
• Understand and adhere to all security protocols

The ideal candidate will be able to work as a collaborative team member, communicate effectively, and be resilient and tenacious in their approach to work. They will also have:

• Experience of working in a Post Production environment is desirable.
• Experience of secure transfer technologies such as Aspera, Signiant etc.
• Experience in dealing with different types of physical media formats as well as managing LTO archive.
• Proficient with Linux, Mac and Windows OS, file and directory permissions and networking concepts and terminology.
• Knowledge of editing and transcoding software (e.g. Adobe Premiere, Adobe Media Encoder, Compressor).
• Basic knowledge of file compression, codecs and formats.
• Thorough understanding of video industry metadata standards.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise, manage orders and work to deadlines whilst producing high quality work.
• Able to work flexibly including shifts, unsocial hours, nights and additional hours as required.

Shift pattern is a four-week rotation: All shifts include a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
Week 1: Monday to Friday (08:00-17:00)
Week 2: Monday to Friday (13:00-22:00)
Week 3: Monday to Thursday (11:00-20:00), Sunday (09:00-18:00)
Week 4: Tuesday to Friday (07:00-16:00), Saturday (09:00-18:00)


Holidays: 23 days holiday rising to 25 days following 5 years' service (not including bank holidays)
