We're looking for Curation Editors to join Sky News and organize and curate the content on the Sky News website; reaching and engaging users across multiple platforms, whilst publishing and showcasing the best of Sky News journalism. If you are passionate about digital storytelling, have razor-sharp news judgement and love experimenting to drive results, this could be the role for you.
What you'll do:
Curation and editing: Work collaboratively with editors and chief subs to curate our web and app to create a compelling experience that keeps users informed and engaged, showcasing a variety of news and premium content. Curate Sky News content for our partner brands, staying across the channel pages to ensure the best content is promoted.
Optimisation: Conduct testing on headlines and images to maximize audience click-through rates and engagement. Collaborate with editorial teams to refine headlines and visuals for both breaking news and evergreen content
Engagement and Growth: Implement best practice to increase recirculation, discoverability and reach, improving content performance by looking at opportunities for cross-platform promotion.
Reach: Sub-edit and publish content from our specialist trends teams to ensure we are reaching audiences by publishing relevant topics in a timely way.
What you'll bring:
Proven experience in digital content curation or a similar editorial role i.e. Chief Sub, with a recognised news organisation.
Bags of initiative and a keenness to study performance analytics; ideally familiarity with SEO best practices, analytics tools, and A/B testing methodologies.
Quality writing skills (including flawless written English), a flair for headline writing, a great eye for a story and a passion for news.
Editorial judgement; able to protect our brand while maximising audience numbers.
