Creative Video Editor

London

The NET-A-PORTER team are now seeking a talented Creative Video Editor to join the Editorial video team, to lead the way in all things post production based in our offices in Westfield London, W12. Reporting into the Video Content Producer, you will be tasked with being as comfortable cutting dialogue for social media as designing motion graphics for a large-scale campaign, you will have a broad knowledge and demonstrable skills across all video post-production trends and techniques.

The Creative Video Editor plays a key role in deciding how to best present the footage acquired from a variety of shoots across all the NET-A--PORTER publications and platforms. This includes being an integral member of the creative team in planning and preparing shoots to ensure that the content we acquire will be the best possible for all delivery methods. As well as needing to be technically proficient, this is a creatively proactive role; we want to see what you can bring to each edit.

Whilst we are looking for a specialist in video post-production, seeing projects through from end-to-end means that the Creative Video Editor must demonstrate a high-level understanding of every aspect of the filmmaking process. From storyboarding to kit selection, colour grading to archiving; every member of the team will be expected to get stuck in at any stage of the process.

You Will:

Work as a key member of a small but busy creative team across multiple platforms.
Ingest, transcode and prep incoming footage for use in Adobe Premiere projects.
Organise, log and archive footage and hard drives for use across multiple projects.
Oversee that quality is being maintained across all edits within the team.
Identify new standards and practices in the industry to increase quality and efficiency.
Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in video, film and visual storytelling.
Prepare projects to be sent to other members of the team for review and/or the next stage in post-production.
Quickly and efficiently implement edit notes from various creative teams whilst maintaining the single "voice" of the brand across all projects.
Work to extremely tight deadlines, often maintaining your own schedule to ensure all edits are delivered in advance of reviews and deliveries.
Maintain excellent attention to detail and QCing your own work on quick turn-a-round projects.
You Have:

Previous experience in a similar role within the fashion or retail industry.
A show reel demonstrating your work as the senior editor on projects of varying budgets. Where possible, please also provide a complete scene/interview/campaign video alongside your show reel.
A high level of technical proficiency in video editing, data wrangling, colour grading and footage archiving.
Experience with sound design and ideally using online production music databases.
Understanding of and experience in animation and stop-motion projects.
Experience of building and shooting with mid to high end camera packages such as RED Epic, Arri Alexa Mini, Sony F55, Canon C300 etc.
Real passion for digital platforms, publishing and narrative content.
An understanding of how brands negotiate and use different digital content platforms, including social media and mobile apps; and how this effects video content.
Demonstrable interest in luxury fashion, beauty, hair, womenswear or celebrity culture is not necessary for the role but will put you at an advantage. An understanding of popular culture and a wide range of cultural interests is a must.
The ability to have a positive attitude towards constructive criticism, especially working in small creative teams.
Great communication skills and an ability to explain your ideas effectively and concisely.
A constant desire to learn new skills and to be creatively pushing the limits of your technical ability to make more engaging content for the audience and your peers.
